The 'four questions' are the core of what Byron Katie calls "The Work". These are four simple questions that you can apply to every thought and belief that you have and every situation in which you find yourself.

The Questions.
The four questions are a useful tool to quickly see the reality of a situation as it is rather than the way you think it is. I do not recommend these four questions or "The Work" as a substitute for Self-inquiry and Autolysis!

These are the four questions of Byron Katie:
  1. Is it true?
    — Yes or no. If no, move to question 3.

  2. Can you absolutely know that it’s true?
    — Yes or no.

  3. How do you react, what happens, when you believe that thought?

  4. Who would you be without the thought?

Of course it's up to you to determine what you can and cannot use — or what you want to use —, no one else can do that for you.
